Today, we officially begin the celebration journey for our sweet baby girl.....who's not much of a baby anymore. She's been looking forward to this day for so long and has been so patient about it too. It's fun to see her even get excited about picking up the mermaid cake that we will cut into tonight. As the cake is carried out from behind the baker's counter, she screams at the baker-lady, "It says my name on it!! Is it for me?? It's my birthday!!!" The baker-lady didn't seem like she wanted to respond but I could see a little giggle in her eyes and a little turned up smile as we walked away.....I walked away so proud that the cake turned out so great....we all know how special the cake is!!!

So today we will celebrate with the B Family in North Texas, her school will have a special "Celebration of Life" during the week, and then we will surprise her with a trip to Sea World as we celebrate with the M Family in Central Texas next weekend.....it's gonna be a busy and happy week for our baby girl.

This is always a special time of year for her Mama too. As all mother's will probably agree, the birthday celebration of their kids brings back floods of memories about the time of the pregnancy as well as the special day the sweet child announced their presence with the first breath and scream. Baby Girl's first day of life had many surprises.....and then they never stopped coming.

She is the humor in my funny bone, she is warmth of the sun on a cold winter day, she is rage when we are not happy and the soft cuddle two seconds later....She will someday be a fabulous "cooker" or maybe a famous ballet dancer or maybe a star soccer player or maybe a great artist or maybe an award winning dramatic actress or maybe.....but she will never stop being my wonderful daughter, best friend, and favorite snuggle bug. Happy birthday to my little beauty who owns a huge part of my heart!!
