Much to Give Thanks For

It's now a week after the Thanksgiving holiday. It was so great to have a house full of both of our families. And we are so blessed that everyone loves everyone so much! Who really could ask for more. Seriously, this is a great family!!

It was on Thursday right before Grandpa gave the blessing that I looked around my house and felt the overwhelming emotion of love. All the adults were mingling in the kitchen area, some of us were still preparing the meal, and the little kids were either outside or being admired by the adults. Some of the kids really like the attention so when the audience is bigger than normal, the acting lessons sure pay off.

But I looked around and was so proud and honored to be a part of two really great families. Then my father began a touching prayer remembering to thank the Lord for our family, the meal we are about to eat, those who are not with us, our troops fighting for freedom....the house, which had been bustling with laughter, chatter, and cooking noises for the past 24 hours, had come to a quiet and peaceful meditation of thankfulness....and tears came to my eyes...then it happened....Baby S dropped her sippy cup of milk, drops of milk spilled out across the floor....three of the four pooches who were with us rushed the drops of milk trying to get their share in which case our pooch Jake got extremely angry and began barking incessantly.....this all happened just before we were about to say "Amen". Needless to say, Dad finished the prayer with a memorable ending and we all said "Amen" together. Then the eating began. It was a great meal with great company!!

Here are some of our favorite pics from our holiday! Enjoy!
